betsy is our blue-naped mountain parrot (native to the forests in the philippines). when we adopted her about 4 years ago (her owner said she was about 6 months old, although we doubted the truth of that), she could already dish some pretty tough talk... in tagalog! despite the many years of domesticity, betsy has never lost her wild side. in fact, betsy can be downright bitchy at times, scolding the dogs for barking too loud or screaming at people who whistle. but she loves to watch the television and laugh along with us - she even cackles like a witch in front of her cauldron!
